Winter Brings Fresh Culinary Events to Pelican Hill
This winter, The Resort at Pelican Hill introduces Epicurean Experiences for Super Bowl, Valentine’s Day, Easter and other seasonal events.
Guests and locals alike are invited to enjoy a variety of new dining and entertainment options at Southern California’s Top Resort, as rated by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler in the 2012 Readers’ Choice Awards.
“This winter, we are pleased to introduce our newest culinary offerings, including the Black Truffle Menu at Andrea, a Classic Gourmand Menu at Pelican Grill and Evening Art and Wine Walks around the Resort,” said Pelican Hill Executive Chef Jean-Pierre Dubray. “With Michelin-starred Chef Luigi Fineo at Andrea Ristorante, Chef Derek Brooks at Pelican Grill and Chef Marc Osier at Coliseum Pool & Grill, Pelican Hill’s talented culinary team has masterfully crafted menus and specialty experiences for every occasion and celebration.”

Wednesday Evening Art & Wine Walks
January, February and March
On select Thursday evenings, take a stroll around Pelican Hill with a glass of Prosecco in hand. Discover the Resort’s collection of plein air paintings, Renaissance tapestries, antiques, Palladian architecture and Italian landscape during this 45-minute guided walking tour. Conclude with optional antipasti and wine in the Great Room.
Guided walks depart from Concierge Gallery at 5 p.m.
Super Bowl Sunday Team Specials
Sunday, February 3
Chef Derek and Chef Marc present game day specials representing the two NFL teams playing in the Super Bowl. Newport Coast’s Sports Center brings the national championship to you on two nine-foot screens at the Pelican Grill Lounge. Along with game day menu specials, enjoy chilled beers, California wines and specialty cocktails. At Coliseum Pool & Grill cheer on your team in the Lounge or from your own private cabana, complete with a flat-screen TV.

Amidst Pacific Ocean panoramas, the little ones delight in an Easter egg hunt, Easter Bunny visits, face painting and balloon shaping on the picturesque Rotunda Lawn. In Mar Vista’s grand ballroom from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Executive Chef Jean-Pierre Dubray presents traditional brunch favorites, with California and Tuscan accents.

Celebrate National Avocado Month in February! Chef Derek creates daily specials with fresh, local avocados from Orange County’s Irvine Ranch, located just eight miles from Pelican Grill. Known to some as the “alligator pear” or “butter fruit,” this quintessential California ingredient goes far beyond guacamole. Since the avocado’s first cultivation more than a century ago in Southern California, chefs have incorporated it into burgers, sandwiches, salads and even ahi tuna tartar, a specialty of Pelican Grill.

Celebrate the Carnival season, beginning with the festival of Epiphany, by indulging in a taste of traditional King Cake. This delicate almond cream-filled pastry includes a trinket, which is traditionally hidden inside the confection. Visit the Caffé for a chance to find the pelican trinket in our King Cake, or order your own custom creation for your home or office.

Chef Jeff and his all-star pastry team create special edition cookie collections to commemorate an especially sporty season. At the Caffé, Pastry Chef Jeff presents traditional and modern seasonal treats.
