You just never know what you might find right here in your own Orange County backyard. Until recently, this 38 year resident of OC didn’t know about this majestic grove of Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) trees growing and thriving in Carbon Canyon Regional Park in Brea. A nice leisurely 1.1 mile hike will transport you away from the hustle of the city, to a canopy of giant trees, just babies, planted in 1975. It’s a peaceful spot, with only houses on a ridge and the top of the Carbon Canyon Dam to remind you that you are indeed in OC.
