I prefer not allowing one door to close before another opens. I’d rather keep the door open, even if it’s just slightly ajar.
Sometimes in life, there are definite beginnings and ends, but never when there’s a genuine human connection involved. When it comes to relationships and expanding our spheres of influence (notice I did not say “network”), there is never a limit on how we can interact with people. Even when we move on from close-knit relationships, there’s often the opportunity to keep that door open, and re-visit the relationship in the future. To have this freedom, you must remain in contact with your tribe; this could be as simple as sending a “hello, just thought of you” card or email. My advise: keep your doors ajar. Got someone you can reconnect with today?
