So you’re wondering, “What is Wobwire?” Aside from the name of this blog, Wobwire.com is the newswire for women-owned business. This new get-some-online-buzz-going-for-your-woman-owned-business newswire targets more than 10 million female entrepreneurs in the U.S., most of whom can’t afford traditional newswire services. It is the result of my years of experience interviewing and writing about women business owners, of which I am now one!
Here, as well as at Wobwire.com, I share information that I find interesting, instructional and inspirational for women-owned businesses. I particularly enjoy sharing the success stories of women who turned a simple idea into a success.
Here’s my bio:
Kimberly Porrazzo is president/COO and editorial director for Newport Beach-based Churm Media. In her role at the niche media company, Porrazzo oversees four of the firm’s magazine titles, including OC METRO, OC MENUS, OC Family and IE Family, as well as the company’s related websites and digital properties.
She is founder of Wobwire.com, the newswire for women-owned businesses, in partnership with Churm Media, and of MyWomanOwnedBusiness.com, a social network for female entrepreneurs. She blogs about women business owners here and at wobwire.com.
Porrazzo joined Churm Media in 1998 as a columnist and part-time staff writer. In 2006, she was named editor of OC METRO magazine. Two years later she was named the company’s chief content officer and earlier this year was named president/COO and editorial director. The Cal State Long Beach graduate also served as president of the OC Press Club.
